For Wiki project, I planned on talking about new media/technology that is being integrated into the automotive industry. I came across the page that has been created by a fellow classmate and started updating it with new information about technology that has been incorporated in the recent months. Also, I am adding new images to the page. I have completed a lot of formatting on the page to make it flow better and easier to read. I have corrected some information that I found misleading. I plan on putting more details on how various manufacturer are using technology to make their cars semi/fully autonomous. My goal in the upcoming weeks to create an informative automotive technology page. 

File sharing is the distribution of information in form of digital media among others. Forms of digital media varies from computer programs, multimedia, books. One type of file sharing is peer-to-peer (P2P). This process is called P2P because media gets shared among the users of the software that is used to transferring files. Users of the software can search for a specific media they are interested in and software will search for the media in other users network and start the transfer. It comes with some drawback because files can be mislabeled or often carry virus. The main benefit of this P2P sharing is that its completely free of charge. Some popular examples of P2P file sharing consists of movies, music, books, application for others devices. Best P2P softwares that have the most users are uTorrent, BitTorrent, Souseek. Below are a couple of changes I would implement using new media. - Create a social media page - Here all current students/alumni that are able to collaborate. This would be very similar to Facebook and LinkedIn combined. Students will be able to connect to a specific person/group, ask questions and get a response quickly. Students can also connect with alumni and get all sort of information. This will be a strictly professional environment. College faculty members will be able to join to create a strong transparency among students and faculties. - Make a Baruch app - This will be a mobile app of the Baruch's website. Baruch is extremely inefficient in getting information across students clearly. In this app, all three of Baruch schools will be integrated with the same layout for ease of access. Here all information regarding majors, minors, clubs, any requirements and etc would be found. This website will be continuously updated with new information as things change on a

The issues of privacy and confidentiality are related to new media because of the increase of people using it, and technological advances. People are constantly using new media to share information, thoughts, and personal information; users provide these information willingly. Since, users share information willingly it allows new media sites to track, store, and share information. This is a major concern when it comes to privacy and confidentiality because users aren’t holding these sites accountable for the storing of their personal information. Users lose any chance at privacy through new media. Any individual, regardless if they are dangerous or not can access private information. For example, sharing personal information such as your name and address on Facebook makes it easier for others to track you, as well as use this information against you. I always found mashup to be an amazing piece of art. Being able to put together multiple beats into one long beat and making them flow together takes lot of talent and if done right its nearly impossible to tell it's a mashup. Our ability to do this would have been never possible if it wasn't for the existence of new media. The tools needed to create a mashup has never been easier to obtain. Every apple laptop/desktop come with the program GarageBand, it allows you to edit audio clips with nearly no limitation. This was the best opportunity for me to show my new skill. One of the greatest thing about the world we live in is the ability to produce many things and show our creativity using others work. The best part about that is being able to constantly change the content of the final product to suit someones need. We got software like GarageBand which is a audio editing and recording software very similar to Photoshop. We can take a song and manipulate as we wish to create a new product. This new product can then be uploaded to the internet and downloaded by someone else to be manipulated once again. Same could be said about Photoshop and instead of editing an audio file it would be a picture. Software like these gives us the ability to be creative in our own ways without any sort of limit. In the modern times, we have social media sites which are booming constantly. This manipulation concept could also give us the ability to be creative in social media. Social Media sites are technically bunch of HTML codes which one can take and update as they wis
